Updated sanctions notice: Republic of Iraq
The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) has published an amendment to the annex of the Ordinance of 7 August 1990 on economic measures against the Republic of Iraq (SR 946.206).
By decision of 5 October 2026, the competent United Nations Security Council amended the list of persons, companies and organizations sanctioned. The amendment is directly applicable in Switzerland. SECO has updated SESAM (SECO Sanctions Management), the sanctions database that is authoritative for Switzerland, and published this amendment on its website on 7 October 2026.
