July 16, 2026: UNSC adds to DRC sanctions list (and Canada keeps up)


The United Nations Security Council Subsidiary Organs Branch (the Secretariat) conveys updates to the Committees’ lists and to the United Nations Security Council Consolidated List, to States, regional and sub-regional organizations, and private entities/individuals by e-mail after updates are made to the Lists. At this time, not all documents are available in all languages.

The updates to the lists mentioned in the subject above were made on 14 July 2026.

On July 14, 2026, the UN Security Council 1533 Sanctions Committee concerning the Democratic Republic of the Congo added six individuals and two entities to its sanctions list. For more information, consult the Press Release.

This amendment takes effect immediately under Canadian sanctions legislation, pursuant to the Regulations Implementing the United Nations Resolutions on the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
